Why do people bitch about teachers? U know they go to school to get their education,pay for it and work. So the perks that come with teaching are there for teachers to enjoy. So stop complaining about them. I bet if u were a teacher u wouldn’t say anything right. Get over it some jobs have good perks some don’t. U wanna pay the money and take the time to become something with great perks then all the power to u.If not then shut up!

the english credit was lost on you. obviously you are in support of teachers (I think….). perhaps the suggestion that it is one of a very few occupations where you get the summer off, produce the same canned program that you have served up for the last 20 years, are subject to no professional or external performance review, and are ultimately protected by a hard ball union that admits to no ( and i do mean no) fault by members…ever, no matter what.top that off with putting in time till early retirement on the time you refused to take off giving you full pension at 56 if you worked it right, despite the fact you have not opened a book in ten years and hey, short of Revenue Canada there is not a package to touch it.those that can do, those whom can’t teach. it unfortunately is true.try a night class, grammer and diction need work.
Right David, because teachers never go back to school to attain further degrees, or partake in any kind of professsional development whatsoever once they get their BEd. I have been educated by over 35 teachers from P-12 and have encountered only 2 that would fit your description. Hardly fitting of the generalization you laid out don’t you think? Not everyone in life is as jaded as you. Get a grip. Also, teaching is a form of doing that many “doers” can’t do. That overused quote is illogical and reflective of your arrogance and ignorance. Unfortunately, that’s true.
Wow, David. For someone who doesn’t capitalize the beginning of a sentence, you’re being harsh on our OP. I have to agree with Miles, too. The teachers I’ve had, I think I’ve had maybe two who followed this description. One taught Canadian history, and one taught beginners French in middle school.Teachers take a lot of crap from surly, angsty teenagers, and if they can manage without losing it, more power to them! Not to mention some teachers don’t actually take summers off and work at summer school instead…
