That child abuser has been granted bail. He will serve virtually no time after the judge called his crimes “repugnant” and saying it was important to send the message that society abhors the abuse of children.
Obviously the judge doesn’t practice what he preaches.
If our “system” can’t take care of this, what can? —Lock him up – throw away the key.

Didn’t he get his ass kicked by a bunch of inmates the day he was transported from the jail to the courts? They didn’t have it in the news but the day little Jimmy got jumped in the wagon being transported I read that this guy got jumped the week before or something?
Yup – the justice system seems to be intent on sparing him the justice he deserves. Whoever rated his risk of re-offending should be required to employ him as an au pair until his appeal hearing.
I realize I’ve just betrayed my utter ignorance of the legal system and the facts of the case, but I’m speaking from the heart, not the head.
I agree that this man should never have received bail. Some crimes are not deserving of bail. Pedophiles should never be allowed bail. Let him appeal from the inside of his cell while he’s serving the meagre sentence he received for destroying the lives of the victims of his evil deeds. Granting him bail adds to the trauma suffered by the victims. But we can’t have the criminal suffer any discomfort, can we? The judge who released the pedophile should be released from that position and let someone who understands the job take over, preferably before the appeal reaches court.
Child molesters aren’t in the general population of the prison, since they’re predators they are TARGETS the minute they set foot in the jail.
They’ll just end up getting killed… so even if they do go to jail they will receive special treatment.

Pedophilia is something that cannot be treated, cured or rehabilitated. While it sounds disgusting allowing them back into society, they do not deserve extensive incarceration after serving a full sentence. Murderers, rapists and violent crimes get less of a sentence than they do.
I’m not condoning molesting children (or any person at all) by any means. There could be institutions made to house pedophiles after jail time that could be used to further study and understand pedophilia that may be more useful.
I’m going to catch heat for this post but ah well. And Funk is right; they are targets upon entry and the same goes for dudes who beat women.
I have no sympathy for pedophiles. If you destroy the life of a child then you deserve to rot in prison for the rest of your life.
I’m not saying to feel sorry for them but further understanding would do society and the systems better I think. Most pedophiles were abused as children themselves and are repeating the cycle. It’s one of the grey areas of physical and social sciences that could use more research I think.
Agreed on the more reasearch and that many of them were abused as children, but since there isn’t a way to stop the attraction to children, why risk having them out in society?
Because they fundamentally have rights too. While that may sound bad we were a democracy and even the most fucked up of souls has a right to walk a free person after service a sentence.
I personally know murderers who are free as fucking birds today. They were unrepenant, acknowledge what they did, and refused to be rehabilitated. But today he’s free to walk the streets again and he murdered another person (in our community) with his bare hands.
If you commit a crime against a child, life without parole.
If you murder someone in cold blood, life without parole.
If you rape a woman or man, life without parole.
That’s not the legal system though, babe.
If so our CF would be lined up to be prosecuted in the name of democracy. And we’re not the US.

In Truro, around 2002, a teacher pleaded guilty to pedophilia and he was also put on house arrest. I think that they should all do time in prison, and get the full treatment.
