After three days of being late for work, I decided to call Metro Transit and find out if perhaps my bus route had been changed. I was then informed that if a bus is only 20 minutes behind it is not thought of as “late”. Now this makes me wonder.. When the bus is running 20 minutes “behind”, and I arrive at work 20 minutes “behind” is it fair to say that I’m not “late”? Try and explain that one to your boss.. Perhaps the laws of time and space do not apply to buses.
Thank you Metro Transit for this new insight.

Funny, last time I called Metro Transit I was informed that the threshold for lateness was 15 minutes. That was a year ago. Maybe it increases by 5 minutes every year. If that’s the case, then it’ll be 25 minutes next year, and so on, until 2016, when the bus will be exactly 60 minutes late, or on time again. Eight years is not long to wait. Oh wait… I have to catch a bus.
I’d be interested to know what constitutes early in the eyes of metro transit. Especially near the end of the day, I always seem to find myself looking at the ass end of a bus just as I arrive at a stop 5 minutes early. Hrm, so maybe, I should arrive 10 minutes early, and stay 20 minutes late, and that will guarantee that I catch a bus that runs on the half hour. I think i’ve got this figured out.
hahahah. IR, try not showing up at all. I called about that, they informed that it means the bus isn’t scheduled, yet it was printed on their most recent schedule.
