Oh my. I thought I could ignore it. After Tim Bousquet’s great article on the Halifax Games bid scandal, Julia Rivard writes in all hurt, saying she worked real hard for that $29,783.75, and put in a bid to the committee, agreeing to work for a pretty paltry (for a designer) $20 an hour. The next week Sam C. writes in, to apologize to Rivard on behalf of the public. Sam! Do the math. Even guessing that a generous $4,783.75 went to HST and expenses, at $20 an hour that would mean Rivard worked for 1250 hours! Even skipping lunches to put in 8 hour days, that’s 156 days!
Tim Bousquet had it right, and no apology is necessary.
