Every time the radio comes on, everytime the television turns on, that’s all I hear. —Can’t get away, kill me please.

  1. never heard of it.
apparently I should be thankful too.

give me some indestructible or asylum any day….

  2. When is the music scene going to cycle back around to put the real artists in the limelight? Probably not for the rest of my lifetime

  3. I was at the Classified show at Parade Square the other night when J-Bru was talking about the upcoming shows to the crowd. Katy Perry was playing at the time while IV was setting up so Bru mentioned the DJOs and the rescheduled Pete Rock/Large Pro show for October 1.

The fucking crowd responded more to Katy Perry being played than it did to Bru asking if anybody was psyched for two legends of the hip hop game instead! Nobody knew who Pete Rock and Large Pro were. Disgusted me.

  4. LMAO… It’s called pop music for a reason…popular doesn’t mean it has to be good.
And piss off all of you…the song is catchy for crying out loud…. 🙂

  5. Jubblies that fire whipped cream. Who was the genius who came up with a way to make bustaments even more excellent? Get this guy tenure at MIT and working on cold fusion – Stat

  6. POP is short for Popular?!?!?!
I thought it was representing the braincells of those who were listening….

and how can it then be considered pop music if it’s just come out and no-one’s heard it yet?

  7. Apparently Much plays Kaskade.

    I’m appalled and disgusted.

Now I have to go find someone else to listen to.

  8. You only started listening to Kaskade through me. And don’t front; you willingly listen to Miley Cyrus and Justin Beiber ffs. At least I still rock Steve Smooth, Jack In Da Box and Hatiras.

  9. Just thank God for this song, because without it, we would still be hearing California Gurls every five minutes. Teenage dream isn’t half as bad… actually was kinda catchy for the first month of airplay.

  10. Reminds me of one radio station that constantly played “Hot Child In The City” by R.S. I think the DJ had a thing (crush or whatever) for him. I don’t listen to that shit station anymore! Makes me glad I have ringing ears now ’cause me best friend listens to that station every so often. WILL SOMEBODY ANSWER THAT FUCKING PHONE?!!?

  11. So what if I did discover the hotness that is Kaskade through you, NGF?

You’re just jealous that I’d rather have babies with that piece of hotness than you, so don’t YOU be frontin’.

And just because I said the biebs’ prepubescent voice doesn’t completely suck doesn’t mean I’m into his tunes. And fuck you. Miley reminds me of my gay husband who lives on the other side of the fucking country who I will likely never get to see again, so ‘xcuse me if I indulge in some sad miley sometimes 🙁

  12. oh PK….
    beiber… really?
me thinks that water bottle wasn’t hefty enough to do the kind of damage I would like see inflicted. Actually, I’m being pretty biased since I don’t think I’ve heard a single song he’s chirped out…. I’m just against him on principal.
    same with Miley I suppose…
if you need look-a-likes in your concert to lip sync for you… you should not be performing.

Milli Vanilli tried that shit and look where it got them.

  13. Well, one of them (Milli, I think) had a significant post-mortem role in “Bruno”. I see a spin-off on Showcase -” The Ghost Salad-Tosser”

  14. I wish I were the person who threw the water bottle at Beiber. And that the water bottle were a brick or something.

And Kaskade has babies with his hot model-looking wife, PK. And being a DJ he’d rather hang out with me instead of talking about Miley Cyrus with you 😀 And your gay bf isn’t even gay. If he can’t take it in the bum he’s not gay.

  15. k- my curiosity has been raised…..

“And fuck you. Miley reminds me of my gay husband who lives on the other side of the fucking country who I will likely never get to see again”

  16. Try the new station Live 105. All songs voted on from what I can tell. Some great tunes from excellent older albums and some amazinig indie talent. Hope it sticks around!

  17. NGF – you’re a DJ? Nice!!

And I’m really curious about the storey behind Pretty Kitty as well!

  18. zZz, I swear to you, if you’ve heard Miley Cyrus, you’ve heard Bieber. I honestly thought she was recording stuff for *him* to Milli Vanilli to. Yikes.

As to the OB, I was confused. First I thought, “This is on the radio all the time now?”, and then I thought, “And what the hell is wrong with Johnny Cash?!” Oops.

  19. haven’t heard Miley either…
    on purpose.

I’ve been all into metallica, unsun, velvet revolver, disturbed, GnR, and lacuna coil for the last 8 months and rarely stray (only to WWE intro music like alter bridge, rev theory,…)

I like to like what I listen to…

  20. well it’s been out a while and proven quality to mine auditory canal.
I like crunchy guitar or bluesy solo’s…
oh, and a touch of megadeth too for good measure.
    the concert re-peaked my interest

  21. Some idiot did a remake of Video killed the radio star…I am appalled and a little heartbroken!! It’s on the radio now….

  22. I can’t think of too many remakes and cover versions that are better than the original. Most are poor imitations of the real thing. Bands should just give it up already!

  23. Johnny Cash’s version of “Hurt” is the stellar exception to that rule. Can’t think of too many others though.

  24. Shatner’s versions of “Rocket Man” and “Mr. Tambourine Man” have a certain style, I’ll give them that.

  25. chris cornell doing billie jean was pretty original.
and Whiskey in the Jar covered by Metallica is always on my playlist…
    as is turn the page…

  26. OK…I have to say I did love when Alien Ant Farm covered Smooth Criminal … and I was a fan of the Fugee’s no woman no cry.

But there’s some classics that shouldn’t be touched…c’mon now….Madonna’s American pie made me cringe!

  27. Johnny Cash doing Nine Inch Nails’ “Hurt” is perhaps one of the best covers of all time. Barenaked Ladies certainly did Bruce Cockburn’s “Lovers In A Dangerous Time” justice. U2 did a phenomenal job of Frank Sinatra’s “Night and Day”…

** David Hasselhoff’s rendition of Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots Were Made For Walking”, however, takes the cake in my mind.

  28. the general turned me on to mr. nimoy doing the hobbit song…heehaw. sinew girl ruined that song rc

  29. Don’t hassle the hoff
    He be the man!
his role in Jekyll and Hyde on Broadway secures him as a pretty good singer/actor in my mind… though the two other lasses stole the show.

I mean, who voluntarily sings at their own roast?!?!?
    THE MAN, that’s who

  30. good one martym (gary oldman did a fine job portraying him) but i prefer nina hagen’s rendition…freak rawk

  31. Hey Marty, did you mug some kid for his Metropass? he he he >; ) Fuckin’ A about Sid. That was our party song first year of uni.

Our secret Jonno – won’t tell a soul.

  32. hey look at you, what a cutie. where did you find that? you have a george costanza wallet? seriously you look zigackly the same^^

  33. Diesel used the Jack-knife Power Bomb, zZz! Sid’s was just “POOOOWWWWEEEEERRRRR BOOOOOOOOMMMMMMBBBB!” And Vader had the Vader Bomb!

  34. right right…
crap. it’s been so long since I’ve seen Sid…. after he snapped his ankle doing that stupid kick off the second rope.
    horrific at best….

I hear he’s recouped though and trying to make a comeback.

I’ve always been partial to submissions as finishers though…. a little more climactic.

  35. Can’t say I know that song…but if its played on Big dog or one of a couple of HFx radio stations I may have heard it !
I heard a band a couple of weeks ago ‘Cage the Elephant’ playing “In one Ear” & I really liked the song. So I checked them out on U tube…”ain’t no rest for the wicked” “Back against the wall” I thought they sounded pretty good. So I went out & got the CD, its not bad & has a bunch of good songs on it….probably wouldn’t be a favorite of the Katy Perry fans though.

  36. He’s been doing the indy scene for a while now. I thought I read that his son was in training now but that could be someone else. Maybe Vader’s son is; or Vader’s son is playing football. Not sure.

  37. Cage The Elephant, ha my Borderlands days are a comin’ back. You might, and I stress might like The Boxer Rebellion hmm try ‘Semi Automatic’ by them or ‘Lay Me Down’.
For my jazzists, lets see, some Melody Gardot, try a little ‘Baby I’m a Fool’ as an entrance track.
Uh some revival old school rap white boy Jewish style, a little Mac Miller, ‘Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza’

Velvet Revolver rubbed me right in like grade 8 when I had a green first gen. iPod mini. Ah the days.

    Lol.

Ain’t no rest for the wicked … money don’t grow on trees 😉

  38. zZz – Iwas just being facetious about your choice of tunes.
Oceanchick- 5 finger death punch – bad company, Seether – carless wisper, just to name two.
Oh yes…Nazareth, Love Hurts, one of my favorite covers.

  39. I DID have a George cos. wallet until like 2 days ago and that’s where I found my metropass:) nash the slash: :dead mans curve devo; satisfaction nazareth ; this flight tonite depeche mode: personal jesus 🙂

  40. girl you’ll be a woman soon: urge overkill; dear prudence: siouxie and the banshees; walk on by : the stranglers 🙂

  41. It was re released in 2005 as an electronic track. I got the promo copy from Steve Smooth that also included a Killers remix.
