One more reason to want to move from this city: Someone once again hit my car with their car and just left… No note, nothing.

Thanks a lot jerk. My car is older, but didn’t have any scratches until you had to run into it. You couldn’t even have the decency to face what you did. How do you not notice and not care about damaging someone else’s property?

I’m upset and angry. Now I need to pay to get it fixed, thanks jerk.

I’ve seen my share of bad driving here, a car is a liability more than anything else here. —Sick and tired of Halifax drivers

  1. Due to quick reflexes and long ingrained defensive driving habits I avoid being rammed, on average, about once a week.

Usually it’s other drivers trying to lane change into me or pulling out in front of me from alleys and cross streets.

I feel your pain. It’s getting so bad that I’m reluctant to take the car out of the driveway anymore and I don’t if I can help it.

Last week, some woman from Paradise, NS, lost in the big city, changed her mind about which lane she wanted to be in at a red light and backed right into my wife. That situation is still being resolved but not without some struggle. The offending driver admits she backed into my wife but insists the $1200 worth of damage must have been caused by someone else.

I don’t remember other places I’ve lived being this bad, and that includes some fairly complex freeway systems in big U.S. cities.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’d like to have a pair of .50 cals under the hood and a license to kill.

  2. I’d like to have a pair of .50 cals under the hood and a license to kill. – that would certainly dry up the gene-pool.

  3. Kay, I already have a long list of reasons to leave NS, but I’m not going to leave until I have made a successful revolution here. I fight for the peasants (and redneck strutters), not for myself.

  4. see red green show for tips on how to make your car more ding resistant. duct tape goes a long way, and has some very interesting uses. either tat, or pack your bumpers with some nice high explosive, like c-4 or 5, and bet you a buck, they will nver ding your car again. you won’t have one to worry about, and neither will they. it’s a win win thing, you get them, and 2 cars are off the street, making things a little greener, sheesh.

  5. Commandante Esposito, I spent 3 YEARS working with charities in the HRM and still found myself surrounded by ungrateful, aggressive BULLIES. Your efforts are better spent on better people.

  6. I saw this happen in the Wal-Mart parking lot. They didn’t stop, but I wrote down the plate #, and left it on the windshield. The owners called the police! Watch out, Constable Calvin is on patrol.

  7. This happens more often it seems. I saw a red sunfire back into a jeep at Tacoma Sobeys and just drive off. The bumper was dented inward. I left a note with the sunfire’s plate number, color, male driver’s description, and time on the jeep’s windshield with my name and number. The jeep’s owner called and thanked me and said they reported the incident to police.
