so I took the train recently. and now my back hurts. WHY? because the designer of said train decided that clearly no one would want to sleep on a train unless they paid the extra money for a sleeper car. oh how wrong. and just like in so many airports who created rows of chairs that are impossible to lie down on or even get comfortable in, they decided to build an hard metal pointy arm rest that, even though the train was half empty and I had two seats to myself, made it impossible to curl up and sleep.
gee. thanks.

Don’t complain. I recently had to take the train from Ottawa to Halifax, return, during the summer. If you are travelling alone, the train attendants will seat you in the “individual” seats as opposed to the double seats, however.. these seats have literally no room at all. And, on one of the trips, I was in this little “table” seat, which was two seats facing each other with a table in the middle that doesn’t collapse, so you are either sleeping on the table or with the table in your ribs. Moving any which way will cause you to fall into the aisle. Before anyone comments, I’m a fairly slender average height female who was traveling with one medium sized purse only.
