as a tax-paying pedestrian – walking to/from work after a major weather event, like last night’s snow storm – i get really pissed-off when i have to carefully navigate a treacherous minefield of ice & slush on public sidewalks, intersections, et al. it’s extremely annoying and downright hazardous.

and to add insult to injury, as i’m up to my ankles in slushy ice, i notice that motorists get to enjoy their warm ‘n cozy drive home on a bone-dry street!

whoever/whatever department is responsible for keeping the PUBLIC sidewalks WALKABLE is NOT doing his/her job, and should immediately be FIRED! and for all YOU lazy bums who can’t pickup a shovel to clear ice/snow away from your own sidewalk… may you fall down hard on your fat asses!

wet fucking feet!

  1. You know what is more infuriating is that the little yellow 3-wheeled sidewalk plows they use to clear the public sidewalks is used to clear the walks on my street in Dartmouth…and it is nowhere near any major streets. I live up in the flower streets of Dartmouth and the mini plow clears our front sidewalks but when you get down near the ferry on the more widely used PUBLIC sidewalks there is snow and ice all over the place. I for one think this makes no sense at all, sure it’s nice not having to ever shovel out front of my place but I can’t stand seeing the public walks all covered.

  2. Almost broke my neck today walking past Cornwallis Park near the Westin. The sidewalk was an icy mess – I can’t even imagine what it must be like for someone elderly or disabled.
