To the small group of asshole dog owners who insist on NOT cleaning up after their pets. I really appreciate having to scrap dog shite from the soles of my 19 month old son’s boots after a visit to the playground. To those of you who visit Conrose Park and the park behind Le Merchant St. Thomas on Jubilee Road and leave your animals crap in the grass….thanks! I think it’s great that my son gets a chance to really get his hands and feet dirty in the grass. Not all kids spend time on the playground, they like to wander in the grass, the same place your dogs crap. Lovely, I’m trying to get my kid some fresh air and exercise and end up scrapping crap off of shoes, boots and strollers cause you can’t be bothered to bring a bag or are too proud to stoop and scoop. Just hope I don’t see you leaving the scene cause you’ll get an earful or maybe a shoe full of your own!

I totally agree… I have a dog and I walker her everyday – always with a bag of poo in tow. It sucks to have to carry a bag of poo but it would suck even more to have to scrap it off of a small child. It’s too bad that there are irresponsible dog owners that make it bad for everyone. I do wish that the city provided more garbage cans though!
Get a digital camera and hang around the park for an hour or so…you will have more than enough picture evidence to have those losers fined.
Eww that’s gross – I have a dog – and I always have atleast 2 bags..and if I by chance have none – I have no shame in stopping a stranger to ask them if they have a spare plastic baggy with them.If you have pictures of the person and their pet – and know roughly where they live – call animal control…good luck though.When you phone HRM – you get the HRM call centre – there is no “direct call” to Animal Control.
Actually it would be the Police to ticket…animal control would only need to be called for strays and abusive owners. Just make sure you call the NON-EMERGENCY number listed in the phone book.
