I’m sick of hearing smokers say they are going to quit and then go and light up. Just quit. I work with someone who says he wants to quit everyday and when I tell him to just quit he says “it’s hard”. It’s not hard it’s just takes willpower which apparently all you wishful quitters are lacking. I smoked almost a pack a day. One day I just decided to quit so I did. I haven’t smoked since. It wasn’t easy it just took willpower. So to all you smokers who whine about quitting. Just shut up and quit.

I did it so can you.

  1. Hi Quit Already aka bad reformer, if it is so easy why did you start in the first place…how many people did you piss off until YOU made your mind up….

  2. you know what JQA? fuck you..i have just quit, and ya i did it with zyban, and even then it was hard as hell. not all people have the same metabolism, and since you seem to be so magically blessed with amazing willpower, quitting was easy for you. yippee skippy. but dont insult people for trying…thats fucking sleazy.

  3. Oh you’re a real class act (I did it). Now how long is it going to take you to QUIT being a fucking moron? eh?

  4. JQA sounds like your bitter because you quit and the rest of the world didn’t quit with you. Get over yourself.

  5. Ok this is a response to the rather aggressive replies I see here. All of you read the post again as JQA wasn’t insulting people for trying…just SICK of hearing people complain about how they can’t quit, when they haven’t even tried yet. Yes it is hard to quit, fellow ex-smoker (pack a day, 10 years) myself and it was quite a trial, but I put the first foot forward and tried.Oh and BJ? The only moron here is the moron trolls that apparently can’t read properly, get a life and read thoroughly before dropping the f-bombs.

  6. It’s just stupid to say that ‘quiting isn’t hard, it just takes willpower’. Nothing is more addictive than nicotine and using/having willpower doesn’t make something easy. However, I agree that the only way to stop smoking is to stop smoking. Take it one smoke break at a time and don’t let your guard down. There’s never going to be a good time to quit and you could stop today. Come on smokers – what are you waiting for??

  7. Christopher, how about you read it again. The guy wasn’t complaining about not being able to quit he was saying he wanted to quit. Which is the first step. If buddy can’t handle co-workers making comments he should speak up at the time and say he doesn’t want to hear it NOT be backstabbing and bitch about it here.

  8. We’ll stop complaining about how hard it is to quit when you “non-smokers” stop complaining about when, where, how, and how often we smoke!!!!

  9. And I’ll stop complaining about when, where, etc… you smoke so long as you make sure I can’t smell it, taste it or see it.

  10. I don’t know what’s worse, holier-than-thou non-smokers pretending they have the SLIGHTEST CLUE what its like to be addicted, or ex-smokers (which I am) that decide to be zealots and run their mouths all the time, or the smokers who won’t shut up about quitting and keep lighting up. You all piss me off. Less preaching and lying to yourself/others and more shutting up would be great.

  11. It’s nice to see that today’s generation still finds a group that they can freely hate without fear of being ostracized by the politically-correct police. Humans seem to have the instinct to need to hate some group of other humans, be they people of other colors, creeds, religious beliefs, or now, whether they smoke tobacco. Of course I’m sure none of this venom would be directed at smokers of weed.

  12. I don’t hate smokers, just smoking. And I don’t care what you are smoking, keep it the hell away from me. I’m just of the opinion that it’s my right to not be forced breathe in that nastiness. Plus, when I was quitting (way back in the day) second hand smoke was a nearly unbearable tempation.

  13. Hating smokers is a strong term. The reason smokers are disliked is two fold. 1- They are annoying to non smokers. It’s not even the smoking outside part. I can deal with that as long as the smoker is curtious but smokers, I wish your nostrils weren’t so numbed from smoking because if you could smell yourself after you finish a smoke…. I work in an office with elevators and smokers you stink up the whole elevator. Now 2- Smokers are at a much higher risk of heart disease and cancer which ends up costing more health care dollars. If non smokers got a tax credit for not smoking smokers would be up in arms so why is ok that non smokers have to pay for smokers who put themselves at a higher risk?

  14. I sure do love a good smoking rant. I’m with the Just-Quit-Guy… It’s all in your head morons. Everything is addictive if you want it to be. Everyday all day, it’s all we hear & see, we’re spoon fed this crap… ‘we have no control over anything, we’re just mindless idiots who can’t control our minds, bodies, actions, blahblahblah’ – isn’t there an official name yet for the ‘disease’ we like to call smoking b/c we can’t admit that it’s a CHOICE to smoke. You know, like alcoholism. “The beer made me drink it”, & such. Get a grip smokers – especially young smokers – there is no excuse, it’s ridiculous & it is a self-propelled HABIT. The cigarettes don’t buy and smoke themselves. And to throw another stick on the fire – TWICE in the last week I have watched a pregnant chick smoking. WORSE than the pregnant chick smoking, was the people who came to the defense of Princess-smoke-out-the-baby, because IT’S REALLY HARD TO QUIT. Fuck off. Grow some will power like the rest of us who have ever quit anything & man up.
