Remarks: We called NSP about the problem. After a minute or two of calming muzak, a customer service rep happily took our complaint, and said that when it comes to wire repairs, they always send out a crew, even if they aren’t certain that it’s their responsibility. If it turns out to be an Aliant gaffe, NSP will let ‘em know—which saves us from calling Aliant (and from even more muzak). Inter-corporate communication, huzzah!
Who’s Responsible?: Depending on what travels through the wire (volts or voices), it could be Nova Scotia Power (428-6230) or Aliant (611).

God forbid you leave your house 1min earlier next time.The driver has a job to do, and that job requires he be at certain stops at certain times. He does his best but waiting 1min for you, means making all the other stops wait an additional minute as well – get your head out of your ass and look at both sides before you bitch.
I have been there! It seems that the buses in this city do not run on a schedule, but an approximate time of arrival instead … my morning bus varies from being 5 minutes early to 10 minutes late. Leaving a minute early is no guarantee, Libra. Most drivers will wait, especially when you are running like a mad person to get to the bus … but some are asses who prefer to be asses.

Totally can sympathize with you. Walked out of Musicstop on Tuesday at 6:37, knowing that the 17 doesn’t usually pass by the area until :45 after or so, only to find the bus speeding pass, leading me to wave my arms like a jackass for nothing. I’m all for public transportation, but not when it’s inaccessable.
Nothing worse than seeing a bus go by early so the driver can get a smoke break. Public transit in this city sucks so much ass.
You’re giving all Libras a bad wrap! We are equal and kind and see both sides and need balance. I hate the bus, and yes, it is frusturating when they are never on time or are to early. But you should get to the stop a few mins early if it happens to you all the time. I go by the bus drivers schedule and “hardly” miss it now.
I hate the bus, thankfully I now can barely afford a car.Last year I worked at the QEII and lived in Clayton Park off of Willett. The fastest bus was the 18…So I always walked to Robie St. and waited patiently for the 18 to come by…WELL it always showed up…never at the same time, but at 7 times in 3 weeks it was too packed and they didn’t even stop for me. One instance an old lady and I were standing there, the driver stopped and said 1 only…I was like you fucking prick, there are only 2 of us goddamned here…and the old lady being the ignorant fuck that old people often are got on the bus and left me standing there despite the fact that I was standing at the bus stop long before she was. I also waited for the 18 or 17 on various occassions that they didn’t show up at all…standing on willett waiting and waiting…late for classes, late for work!My point is that Metro Transit in Halifax is a completely unreliable mode of transportation in this city. The drivers are so clearly ‘pro union’ it makes me sick. I’m sorry you didn’t get your 5 minutes to read at the terminal…since you were late…but does that now mean you get to stop on Windsor st for 5 minutes and make us more late?? It doesn’t make sense to me!
That same thing used to happen to me – waiting for an hourly bus only to have the driver fly pass the stop without hesitation, despite my flailing and jumping. Extremely frustrating! When drivers are in a such a hurry to end their shift that they don’t stop for customers, you are left feeling helpless and sometimes stranded. I’ve called to complain several times but was not taken seriously and once I was even accused of lying! The bus service here is poor at best and Halifax should be ashamed.
Hang on! The schedule just changed, do you guys know that? A lot of route times are different. Get a new schedule!
Was it the #6 bus on Quinpool? That driver has made eye contact with me and continued driving, even when I’ve been a step away from the stop. I took that bus for over a year and he pretended he didn’t recognize me-and it’s not just me, I’ve seen him do it to others. I think he’s an angry dude who hates his job.
Get to your stop 5 min. early. Get a bus map & schedule. Of course it’s not the most releable but what is these days. I’ve been using the transit system for ten years and I live with it. Imagine what the drivers have to put up with. I’ve had complaints, unanswered, but can you couldn’t pay me enough to put up what they do. You have good drivers & bad.Live with it. The world aint…isn’t perfect.
