Ticked off at Transit
I am sick and tired of the crappy transit system in Halifax. Every morning I choose to use a more environmentally friendly transportation to work. Although, I am usually late because of it. I transfer buses at scotia square, and they are supposed to co

Frustrated, eh? I do have some sympathy for you, but not much. I travel an hour and half on the bus just to get to work, and then I usually have to do the same to get home. I make sure I get to work on time by taking an earlier bus, PRECISELY because 2 of the 3 buses I take do not always connect. When I take a later bus, I’m taking a chance. And I know it, because I’m an adult. Grow up, and leave for work earlier.
I agree…grow up and quit whining. Leave a little earlier, and realize Metro Transit is far from perfect. It is not your RIGHT to take the bus, it’s a privilege, just like driving a car. If Metro Transit makes you that mad, be MORE enviromentally friendly, and walk to work. If that connector bus waited for you every day, then others down the line might be late, too. Then that would create more whiners just like you. At least we have a bus service here, and I for one am glad we do. Metro Transit is far from perfect, but at least they’re trying to improve things. All you can do is whine.
Shut the hell up and get a hybrid car or a moped or whatever other mode of transportation satisfies your granola eating ass. Are you really dedicated to this environmentally friendly alternative or what? If you are, STFU and deal with it.
This for “Tired of whiners”…Choosing to comment on “the whiner”, as you put it, rather than acknowledging the problem and offering a solution, is quite fashionable these days. Might be putting yourself in the category of “a whiner”.
For V.L. Israel….advising anyone to “grow up” sounds like “whining” to me. But then just about anything negative could be construed as “whining”, including suggesting the Transit people are “trying to improve things”. C’mon – get serious.
for binaround, maybe “get real” would be better than “grow up”??? I think people in Portland Estates and Sackville would disagree with you that Metro Transit ARE trying to improve things with express buses and additional routes being created. That looks like improving things to me, n’est ce pas??? Why don’t you get on the ball and make some creative suggestions to Metro Transit??? They need our help, and I am serious about that. Otherwise, you kind of sound like a whiner yourself…
If you know that you have a connecting bus in order to get to work then give yourself an hour grace time. You claim to ALWAYS be late by 20 minutes correct? So wouldn’t it be logical to leave on a bus that heads out half an hour earlier? I’m sorry but that seems to be the only logical step. Better to show up to work ten minutes early than twenty minutes late anyday.Be smarter and realise that if you consistanly miss a connection then maybe that isn’t the propper connection for you.
I agree with how bad our bus system is. Go to any large city and busy runs are going every 5 mins, here it is only the number 1 and really unless you live in the west end of halifax and by the bridge in dartmouth it really doesnt work.Look at how many city buses are overcrowed , people standing all the way to sackville, that cannot be safe if there was an accident on the magazine hill. And kudos to all the people who are able to leave work an hour earlier to work with our crappy bus system, well not everyone can leave an hour early or take an extra hour home when the daycare close or you have another job to get to. Anyone who says our metro transit it a good system doesnt take it!!!!
