Wintersleep on Letterman

Wintersleep is going to be playing on David Letterman this Friday, January 14, around midnight. It’s totally true. Check their website if you don’t believe me. They say they’ll be playing an “old fav of ours.” (At this very moment, a friend is reading over my shoulder and yelling “Or-CA! Or-CA!”) Then in a couple of weeks the boys will be heading off on a tour with the Hold Steady. It’s just another year in Wintersleep-world, where the heights of achievement are seemingly infinite.

Wintersleep-a-rama

Wintersleep are still on the road to world domination and will be back in Halifax on Thursday, May 20th at the Paragon at 9pm. Presales continue until tomorrow. Tickets are $24 and you can get them here. You can also download the title track from their upcoming album New Inheritors here and you can stream the entire album there as well. The album will be released in North America on May 18th.

Sappyfest Day Three

Sunday at Sappy had a slow start, we were pretty partied out after Saturday’s hijinx. I was pretty impressed when we spotted a group of musicians and volunteers playing baseball at 10:30; we thought about stopping by and hitting some dingers but we decided to skip out on the action and head to the performers’ brunch. No other festival treats musicians as well Sappy does, they pay well, they give performers a pass for the entire weekend and they also provide a musicians’ free brunch and dinner every day of the festival.
