Rock Island Bistro is all new

It was once a place that offered a variation on Caribbean cuisine, but since a change in management (which Shoptalk reported on earlier this summer) much has changed at the Rock Island (6293 Quinpool Road, 406-4387). “The restaurant is no longer a Bermuda restaurant but serves Canadian and international food in a casual atmosphere with affordable prices. We have jazz on Thursday nights and plan to have other offerings,” writes owner Abe Granat in an email. (But they don’t do open mic nights anymore.)

Rock Island Cafe is a Bistro

If you’ve been by the Bermudean resto lately, you’ll notice a new menu posted outside. The eatery has changed its name to Rock Island Bistro, along with some staff changes inside. The new chef will tempt you palate with more upscale selections, and the patio out on the sidewalk and in the courtyard around the side makes for a great place for a summer evening meal.
