MIX: Fresh Kitchen (5171 Salter Street, 429-9571) is days away from unveiling a revamped menu, bar and experience.
Manager Chris Richards and head chef Ray Bear are in cahoots in the best way possible: serving their guests. From this Monday until the end of the month, MIX will boast a no-corkage charge Monday to Thursday, followed by a “pay what you want” brunch menu on weekends. You’ll be able to order food and decide yourself what you want to pay depending on how you liked it.
Richards isn’t worried. He figures anyone who doesn’t want to pay anything probably won’t come back. He can’t wait to get crackin’.
“We believe in our customers…we wanna put the power in their hands,” Richards explains.
Aside from menu changes, MIX is gathering up local musical and artistic talent to brighten up their dining room and late night stage.
Along with these new plans for the direction of MIX, Richards and Bear intend on filling the void of classy, high-end restaurants in the city by debuting a fine-dining joint on Blowers street by the end of spring.
“We’re very proud of MIX and we’re going to be very proud of this new spot as well,” says Bear.
