Local home furnishing folks Backyard & Veranda (Park Lane, 5657 Spring Garden, 425-9273) have a new plan for their downtown location: LOFT, a new lifestyle concept retail store. “Not only will we be featuring modern furnishings for apartments, lofts and condos, but great finds in such categories as fashion, handbags and things any young urban professional or smart university student could appreciate,” writes Charles-Michel Leblanc, CEO of Backyard & Veranda in an email. The idea of LOFT is to give Backyard & Veranda a chance to offer more options and decor items geared towards the “unique market” of downtown Halifax while still featuring some of B&V’s typical top-selling items. The changeover is “still undergoing” writes Leblanc, but all you loft-dwellers and urbanites should already be able to find something there to appreciate.
