Havana Nights opens

Now open in the former location of Mexicali Rosa’s is Havana Nights (5680 Spring Garden Road)—which should get all Johnny Castle fans all excited, am I right? Hey, you don’t need to have loved Dirty Dancing or its sequels to enjoy Havana Nights, a Cuban restaurant and nightclub. Friday nights try free salsa lessons, Saturday there’ll be a DJ and dancing, Tuesday they’re planning mojitos made by a genuine Cuban bartender and Thursday night they’re expecting to offer cheap chicken wings and $10 pitchers of beer, with more happening during the week. (Though you may want to hold off on ordering the beer and mojitos, as our sources tell us as of this writing the establishment is still waiting on a liquor licence.)

Added information, January 11. Shoptalk has learned that Havana Nights has received its liquor licence.
