Just over a year after opening it, Boneheads BBQ announced via Twitter last night that it had closed its Fairview location.

It’s sad news for diners in the Dutch Village Road area, but rest easy meat lovers—the grill is still on at Boneheads’ flagship location (1014 Barrington Street).

  1. sad to see them go loved boneheads but had nothing but problems at that location. Via their fb page

Yes for good. Believe me I wouldn’t have done it if I didn’t have to. There are lots of reasons, no single thing specifically caused it, more like a combination of things. Not enough sales, too much overhead, unexpected and costly repairs which continued to pop up in the space (which was leased), I could list more. Bottom line was just not enough money coming in the door as was going out. There are no investors or big money behind this, it’s just a small business owned by one person, me, Cindy and I do it because I love it. Even though DVR didn’t work out as I planned I still learned from the experience and met lots of great people. And after all, nothing ventured, nothing gained right?

  2. “nothing ventured, nothing gained” This is 100% correct, and completely made my week.

Keep doing what you are doing Brandon!

  3. I love Boneheads downtown Halifax, but I gotta say the last time I was out to the Fairview location my parents ended up with a abysmal ribs (dry/burnt) that they were shocked the restaurant was willing to serve.
