So twice in one week I witnessed a metro transit bus barreling into a clearly marked crosswalk and a pedestrian just barely jumping back in order to avoid being hit. Two different times, different places, but in both places it was very obviously the pedestrian’s right-of-way (green light, walking person all aglow one time, the other time a marked crosswalk with the lights flashing and beeps sounding). What’s the deal? —Ugh

Welcome to Halifax! You’re either on the bus, or you’re under it.
I had a friend visiting from Toronto this past weekend and he was commenting on how terrible the drivers are here. TORONTO
Look both ways, make eye contact…then look both ways again….grade 4 stuff….look up from your fucken phone once in a while.
gotta hurry and get away from the bus stop so people can miss the bus…
@ Ho!st, most people don’t believe.
The worst place I’ve driven is here! Just terrible, terrible drivers! I think it’s because they just don’t really use common sense or learn the rules of the road!
I’ve never seen people make wide turns as if they’re driving semis except here!
I’ve never seen anyone stop or brake approaching a green light except here.
I’ve never seen anyone actually stop at a green light, to let someone turn right on red in the adjacent lane of traffic except for here.
The one that takes the cake, someone nearly hit me when he was in the inside lane and I was in the out. He wanted to change lanes but I was already occupying the outside lane. He made eye contact, threw his hands in the air and luckily I narrowly avoided him. I stopped to see if he was drunk or just plain stupid. His logic was I was in the outside lane where I shouldn’t have been. How the hell do you come up with that logic. He actually believe that it was illegal for me to occupy the outside lane in a 2 lane road if he’s trying to make a lane change! So that whole idea of eye contact doesn’t work! It never works here!
