So this weekend an absolute psycho who had their dog off-leash in PPP during a marathon caused a runner to trip over it. Said psycho then got in their car, chased the runner, and then assaulted them.
A lot of people will rush to say this kind of behaviour is not indicative of the average dog owner in PPP, but that’s bullshit.
As someone who walks/runs in the park often, it’s amazing how absolutely inconsiderate and irresponsible most of the dog owners are by allowing their poorly trained pets to impede you constantly. While not much of an issue while walking, for those running and biking in the park it causes a serious health risk to both themselves and the dog.
PPP is for supposed to be for everyone, despite what the hordes of shitty dog owners seem to think.

I love dogs BUT do not enjoy the attentions of large unleashed dogs. Was attacked by a St. Bernard as a young person so I go in panic mode as soon as I see a large stray dog running towards me. As for the people attached to these dogs & letting them roam free, I’d like to choke chain every fucking one of them.
I have also had dogs “nip” at me while I have been running in PPP. Owners don’t even seem to take notice. I’ve had to push one dog off of my lag and the owner yelled at me to stop touching her dog.
Can’t say I’ve ever had any of these experiences at Pt Pleasant, I always take the dog friendly trails, There is signs everywhere, I tend to be introverted and have anxiety, Dogs for the most part pick up on humans emotions and feelings, and I feel they seek out similar people to their owners, to help them bond with people. I had a dog on my street that escaped it’s fenced in yard and followed me for several blocks, Whenever it would escape I would have it follow me back to its home, It was a young dog and not very obedient, but it listened to me. Her very introverted owners, always seemed very cool to me, I loved cars and they had these vintage diesel Mercedes cars, a refreshing change from the boring beige CRV’s of my street, I ended up bonding with these people so strongly and found out they were a lot like me in so many little ways. Dogs just want people to make actual friends and be social, they like loyalty, I don’t even own a dog and never have.
