Living on the opposite side of the country, away from your family and oldest friends, can be really hard. So when Nova Scotia natives Reigh Foster and Tracey
DeBaie met in Yellowknife, they didn’t just find their soulmates in each other, but a little piece of home, too. It was thanks to the wonderful world of the internet that the two decided to meet up for a cup of joe, and almost instantly they completely clicked. “From the second she looked up at me, I knew I would marry her,” remembers Tracey. As it turned out she and Reigh had very different ideas of what their wedding would look like, but thanks to some compromise, they built the ultimate outdoor affair that would bring them back home. With weather worries pushed to the back of their minds they set sail for their big day, walking down the aisle on the Tall Ship Silva’s main deck, sharing their first dance as they cruised up the charming Northwest Arm and celebrating as the sun set on Halifax Harbour. “The big day was even better than we could have hoped and dreamed for,” says Reigh of the intimate evening on the water. “Everyone involved came together and made sure it was perfect!
