Remember two weeks ago, when we told you about Treevenge, Hobo with a Shotgun director Jason Eisener‘s new short horror film about angry, revenge-seeking Christmas trees? (Of course you do. No one forgets about revenge-seeking Christmas trees. Unless they want a pine needle in the eye.) In any event: Treevenge, which stars Jonathan Torrens and Sarah Dunsworth, just won the audience award for Best Short Film at the Fantasia film festival in Montreal (“North America’s premiere genre film festival”). The film’s also set to screen at Fantastic Fest in super-cool Austin, Texas. Intrigued? Patience, Haligonian: the film won’t be premiering online until Christmastime. Aw, pine nuts.
