Jody Upshaw says she’s been singing “since I could talk, basically,” and she has done so on a professional level for about three years. Now 14, Upshaw has collaborated with the likes of Classified, J-Bru and Neon Dreams. Her latest release is a single titled “Glitter and Gold,” which she performs with Shay Pitts.
“We’ve performed it a few times and it’s like just how it feels on stage—having a good time and being with your friends.”
Upshaw has been experimenting across genres for her upcoming EP, including country, pop and R&B. Those tunes are expected to be released in October. For now, check out “Glitter and Gold” below.
