It has been over two years since the Hamilton duo released the
internationally acclaimed So This Is Goodbye, and as can be
expected, the expectations for Begone Dull Care are enormous. In
comparison to their last two near-perfect releases, the Junior Boys’
latest is merely a great album. Jeremy Greenspan’s voice is as
beautiful and melancholy as ever and the crunchy electronic grooves are
even more moody and sprawling. Absent, however, are the great emotional
crescendos that made for such stellar tracks on their last release.
Regardless, when measured on its own virtue, Begone Dull Care is
a great album.
