Just like his metropolis, Grand Analog also tosses rules into the
fire. MC Odario swiftly moves from heavy rock guitars kicking in on “I
Play My Kazoo,” to slow, breezy reggae on “Take it Slow (Spaces &
Places).” This sophomore album is like turning a street corner in a
foreign town—you never know what to expect next, but it’s
revitalizing. “Light So Bright,” a pounding electronic collaboration
with Cadence Weapon, could also describe these kings of Canadian
hip-hop.
