HFX Broadcasting Inc./Z103.5 FM were approved by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission to operate a new English-language commercial FM radio station, this one with a focus on the adult alternative. Z103.5 has 24 months to get the station on the air, and they plan to have it running in about a year. Okay, so maybe they won't be playing Mess Folk, Shannon and the Clams or The Sweet Sixteens, but it's marginally better than Nickelback, so I'm not going to start complaining yet. Read all about it here.
