CBC Radio 2 wants to give your neighbourhood/favourite stoop/park bench the attention it so richly deserves. They are calling The Great Canadian Song Quest “an incredible cross-country playlist with 13 brand new, original songs for Canada’s playbook. Each artist will compose and record an original song inspired by the locations chosen by Canadians from each province and territory.” Starting September 28 to October 9, nominations are open. Canadians can go to www.cbc.ca/radio2 and click the Song Quest logo to nominate and vote for their favourite locations and landmarks. Voting begins on October 12 until October 23. I’m pitching mine to be about the North End Clinic. Do you take a ticket or what?
