One of Canada’s biggest pop-punk exports is coming to Halifax in the New Year. Eight-time Grammy nominee Avril Lavigne is bringing her “Greatest Hits” tour to Atlantic Canada in 2025, with stops in Moncton on May 18 and Halifax on May 20. The “Sk8er Boi,” “Complicated” and “I’m With You” singer will be joined by fellow 2000s pop-punk rocker Fefe Dobson and indie rockers We The Kings.

Breaking onto Canada’s music scene in 1997, when a then-14-year-old Lavigne won a contest to perform with Shania Twain in front of 20,000 fans in Ottawa, the Napanee, Ont. singer has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide in her 20-year career. Lavigne holds 10 Juno Awards, including 2003’s Album of the Year for her debut, Let Go.

The 40-year-old released her Greatest Hits album on June 21, 2024. In concert with the album, Lavigne has been touring North America and Europe since late May.

Tickets to Lavigne’s Halifax show are available online starting Friday, Dec. 6.
