British-Canadian comedian James Mullinger has made people in both of his homes laugh on and on, but his bests crowds have always been in Halifax.
In celebration of the city that helped make his journey in the comedy world possible, Mullinger will be filming his next comedy special at the Rebecca Cohn Theatre in Halifax on April 17, 2026.
“Halifax has always shown up for me,” says Mullinger. “It’s a city that loves live performance, supports its artists, and understands comedy. Filming this special at the Rebecca Cohn feels like the perfect combination of prestige, warmth and East Coast heart and to have Chris Kingston and his team at Salt Cinematic capturing this for global release cements it as possibly the biggest night of my career.”

A British immigrant who now lives in New Brunswick, Mullinger’s comedy often celebrates regional identity, and the East Coast experience. He’s previously released two specials on Amazon Prime Video and is known to have beaten Jerry Seinfield’s ticket sales record at TD Station in Saint John. He has also co-wrote and co-produced The Comedian’s Guide to Survival, appeared on CBC’s The Debaters, and is the editor-in-chief of Maritime [EDIT]. With over 70 million views online, Mullinger continues to swing above his weight as an Atlantic Canadian comedy act.
