I don’t like dogs. There, I said it. Most stink, they are animals after all, they shed, drool and use the outdoors as a bathroom. But what’s worse than dogs are idiot dog people. People who bring dogs into malls, doctors offices and around my children. I don’t want your stinky, dirty dog sniffing my children, jumping on them or rubbing their bodies on them my son is severely allergic to dogs…why are dogs now in doctors offices, libraries and the malls…they are not people. Keep your dogs at home or outdoors where they belong. —Dogs Go Away

I agree. Leave your mutts at home.
What about seeing eye dogs?
I am fine with most dogs, and really like some of them, but I have to say that I don’t agree with this trend of dogs being allowed in indoor spaces. The problem is that many people (due to their advanced age, cultural background, allergies. personal experiences, preferences, etc.) aren’t very comfortable around dogs so they shouldn’t have them forced upon them in indoor public spaces. It’s just a matter of being considerate of other people who don’t share your love of domestic animals.
Nothing concerns me less than what you think of my dog.
I don’t necessarily see a case for banning certain dog breeds but large dogs and irresponsible owners/people who don’t have control of their animals are a problem. I’m not sure what the answer is. In the case below, the victim may have scars on her face for the rest of her life and the dog owner ran off without offering assistance or taking responsibility. What kind of person would do that? http://thechronicleherald.ca/novascotia/15…
I have 2 dogs and I’d rather have them at my dinner table than a LOT of kids. To the complainer, Keep your smelly, spoiled, screaming, inconsiderate offspring at home, so the rest of us don’t have to deal with your lazy parenting. Dogs are allowed everywhere in Europe, because they cause less trouble and have been known to create calmer atmospheres, as seen by the latest trend of bringing them into care homes for the elderly. Honestly, get over yourself, you’re kids probably have worse germs to be worried about!
Funny thing is, I don’t want your sticky, dirty, brats around me or running up to my dog. Maybe you should keep them home.
That’s it….raise your snowflakes.
The original poster makes an interesting point, but that point is lost in the unnecessarily-vitriolic language used.
I think dogs have their place, and in general lend themselves to our overall wellbeing. Having said that, it behoves dog owners to be respectful of others who do not enjoy having dogs around.
My dogs know when it sit quietly, and do not bother other people. If their presence bothers others, I’ll take the dogs and go elsewhere. I wish the parents of unruly children would exercise a similar consideration for others.
As long as we have responsible dog owners and responsible parents, there shouldn’t be any issues.
