Co-op housing in Halifax at one time were community based and were for FAMILIES, not single people and couples. There is a housing shortage in this city and meanwhile single people and couples are living in three and four bedroom co ops and getting reduced rent… If you are one of these types, move on and let someone who NEEDS it move in. —FED UP

Also, please go do some more research into what a housing co-op is and how they’re run.
The biggest carbon footprint you can leave behind is an exponential increase in population.
Maybe we should start giving preference to those keeping the population down…
There are many factors by which a landlord will determine whether or not to rent to someone and the majority of those factors deal with a person’s credibility, ability to pay and credit history. I’ll bet that one of those factors did not meet his/her test.
You can’t just decide that you should get preferential treatment over someone else just because you decided to have kids.
If you can’t afford the kids, you shouldn’t have had them.
Pretty sure couples are “families”. Or did you just mean breeders?
OB, it is the co-op’s fault not the people’s fault. They are the ones that set the rules and interview/approve the people.
My aunt and her 30 year old son live in a
co-op. He does nothing. They’re trying to get him setup in the same situation after his mom passes. Fucking weird.
No special privileges just because you choose to have kids, I agree with Try_The_Truth. If you can’t feed’em don’t breed’em
I have no idea why anyone would want to live in co-op.
I believe co-op should be for the elderly and sick! People who can’t maintain a proper life due to physical / mental illness or due to age! That’s the purpose of it.
No one should be entertaining the idea of having children when they shouldn’t! Children cost money no matter where you live!
