These fellows know a thing or two about momentum. After a few appearances at $Rockin 4 Dollar$ this past winter, the threesome—guitarist/singer Andrew Neville (Quivers, Negative Circles), bassist Matt Grace (Fat Stupids) and drummer Paul Brown (Kestrels)—cranked out a beautiful little self-titled tape, played a cluster of gigs with the likes of BA Johnston, Ultrathin, Quaker Parents and Cousins, and slammed down a cover of Guided By Voices’ “Motor Away” that will send a jingle-jangle frisson down your spine. Sonorous vocals, a wall of fuzz and winsome melodies make the buzz justifiable. The group’s quiet and easy assurance about its place in this world gives me hope in an uncertain future. –AL
