
Having known Alex Mitchell (Bloodhouse, Tomcat Combat) and Dave Brown (Career Suicide) for a few years, Lachie MacDonald (Horses) moved back to Halifax and turned their jams into Dyscontrol, a stripped-down punk band like The Undertones and Wipers. “Unrefined, straight to the point, with rawness and honesty that’s not hidden by a lot of extraneous sound,” MacDonald says. “Lately, indie music involves a lot of noise and layering of effects. I wanted to add something to the conversation that was clear and true.” Dyscontrol’s Bandcamp (dyscontrol.bandcamp.com) offers a sneak peek of a 10-track tape coming out this summer.
