Ray Bear may have left town, but the restaurant that once bore his name is still in operation. Though David Tabah is still the owner, you will notice a few changes. Of course, there is a new chef, and a new name: it’s now called TwelveFortyOne (1241 Barrington, 425-2327), and new general manager Ken Henry describes the fresh menu as “a little more compact.” Price points are a bit lower, with an average appetizer in the $7-$15 range and the entrees in the $22-$32 range. Expect fine sushi, seafood, salads, beef tenderloin, lamb and other quality meat dishes on the menu. “We still have a chefs table,” says Henry. | Shoptalk has learned that a new Indian restaurant has opened in Bayers Lake, Indian Buffet Palace (8 Oland Crescent, 405-8909) in place of the short-lived Wooden Shoe Dutch dessert place. Those who crave the taste of India will be thrilled to learn the new joint has all-you-can-eat buffet service for $9.99. Expect rice dishes, chicken curry, butter chicken, mixed vegetables, channa masala (chickpea curry), dhal makani, raita and lots and lots of nan. Hours are Tues-Sat 11:30am-3pm and 5pm-8pm (the restaurant closes for a couple of hours in the afternoon so the evening meal can be prepared).
