“We’re huge everywhere. It’s cool,” says Mother Mother’s Ryan Guldemond in response to a question about the band’s international popularity. He’s kidding, of course, but the Vancouver-based band is well on the way to proving that this statement isn’t entirely untrue. In the six months since the Mother Mother’s last visit (a sold out Paragon party) they’ve been going non-stop, casting their quirky net on audiences across North America, and most recently Europe, in support of their latest release Eureka. And yet again, even after moving the show to a larger venue, the fivesome has sold out their Halifax show. But not all is lost, unlucky concert-goers. Last week Mother Mother (and the all-powerful iTunes) indulged hungry fans with the release of Live from Montreal, an acoustic set recorded this past summer. So at least you can play pretend until next time.
