Get off your ass and make an actual petition. E-signatures are useless. Real ink on real paper, real *effort*, is what people pay attention to.
Don’t waste your time. NSCAD is doomed. The province won’t bail them out. Dal will simply buy them up for cheap.
nscad has contributed hugely to halifax – that whole thing of halifax being considered one of the most culturally active cities in canada… well that comes from having a strong arts scene, which comes from having a renowned and highly reputable art school. people come from all over canada to attend the school because it’s one of the best. most of the artists in halifax, and nova scotia for that matter, are people who came to the school and fell in love with the city and stayed. and sorry, if nscad were simply the art department at dal there’s no way i would have moved from ontario to go to school in nova scotia.
nscad is an amazing school. but perhaps the problem is you’ve never been lucky enough to attend a school you though worth fighting for. we know how lucky we are, and we’re not going to lose it without a fight.
