Here’s what you need to know about the Graboids: They understand that punk is not vain. They understand that punk is fun. And when Halifax is starved of sunlight and everyone’s broke and you’re feeling fat and gross and just wanna get trashed, sometimes that’s just the ticket. Case in point: their live show, which is as close to an all-ages party as you can get in a bar. A microphone will frequently be set in the middle of the floor and you can hear the drunk, joyous screams of audience members chiming in on songs like “I Got a Gut” and “Kids.” It feels like a party in someone’s garage and, even through the layer of Gus’ Pub grime and sweat, you somehow feel as fresh as a baby. A digital release is coming shortly and the band—featuring Adrian Bruhm, Michel Ungurain, Brian Cormier, James O’Toole and new guy Matt Grace—is currently working on songs for an upcoming LP.
