It’s easy to buy into the Odd Future hype. But their messianic leader, Tyler, the Creator’s new solo album falls flat compared to the work of OFWGKTA’s MellowHype and Frank Ocean. The beats are boring and the lyrics are overtly offensive. That’s not to say Tyler, the Creator isn’t creative. He’s good at marketing himself, and some of his rhymes are pretty clever, but it’s hard to believe him at the end of “Sandwitches” when he says, “We don’t make horror-core/Listen to the music before you put it in a box.” If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, well, that’s a pretty homophobic and misogynistic duck.

  1. Sounds like exactly the sort of critic that Tyler would be mocking with this album, Unfortunately unless it has mandolins or skinny jeans it’s not cool and original… fucking lames

  2. Except he does where skinny jeans and sounds like a poor man’s Necro, so really, where is the originality in that?

  3. Why do you bother to write such negative reviews he writes pretty gruesome stuff but that’s exactly what some of the listeners feel like they need to hear personally I think in his new album wolf he has turned the gruesomeness down as for the swearing people need to realize that it will awalys be apart of our culture
