What’s wrong? Over-concentration of pole-mounted trashcans at the corner of Almon and Gladstone.

Who’s responsible? Don Pellerine, supervisor of public works, 490-6087.

Remarks: After our Fix the City issue pointed out the dearth of trashcans in the north end, a reader called to complain about too many pole-mounted trashcans at this intersection—couldn’t one of these two be moved somewhere along the next four blocks of trashcan-less Almon? Nope, says Pellerine; there are two here because it’s outside the office of the Canadian National Institute of the Blind. Never mind that blind people tell us they don’t like things hanging on poles… but don’t blind people go other places as well?
