In case you missed the news when Tara reported it, the race for Aliant Entertainer of the Year category is getting ugly. You can’t imagine the tension here in Pictou County–no one’s talking about it, but really, when you have Rich Aucoin, Dave Gunning, David Myles, Old Man Luedecke and Tom Fun Orchestra, shit’s gonna get ugly. Tom Fun threw down first with their video smear campaign. I always suspected that Aucoin, who already won for Alternative Artist/Group Recording (more industry brunch award results soon), was a car-blower-upper.
And now we have Ryan Cook and Sunny Acres, who won for Best Country/Bluegrass Artist/Group Recording, campaigning for New Artist/Group Recording. Cook has turned his life around and Hollywood sure loves a comeback. Maybe Cook will be our own Robert Downey Jr. Judge for yourself.
