I’m not sure why athletic competitions need their own songs (no one will ever top this) but here’s the Canada Games official song, “Supersonic” by Chantal Kreviazuk:
I dunno, I’m not a music critic, I’m stretching outside my comfort zone here, and my arts colleagues at The Coast might tell me I’m all wet, but, yawn. Another saccharine pop song from one of those interchangeable singers of a certain sort. But, at least it’s not this classic:

From what I’ve heard, people like it. I’ve been finding the Coast to be particularly cynical about these games. I’m not one to kid myself; these games are not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but it’s a chance for Halifax to shine and have a little pride in ourselves.
Seems to me that Tim would rather just take a dump on them rather than give them a chance.
