Shadow of the Colossus
Sony PlayStation 2
OK, so I didn’t actually play this one, but I watched the whole thing one cold and hung-over winter Sunday and it was beautiful. There is little I can do to convey the comfort I felt watching this little warrior as he ventured through the exquisitely designed landscapes en route to Colossi upon beautiful Colossi. The only thing I can think of that rivals it is the joy I feel watching the slaughter of each of these stunning creatures, one by one, at the hand of his sword, striking tirelessly against their glowing life sacks, or whatever the hell those things are.

  1. This entire “review” is one big testament to the phrase “looks aren’t everything”. One can hear it repeated all through high school and I was hoping to get away from high school once I had graduated. But I find myself constantly returning there, if not in body than in thought because of things like this.”Looks aren’t everything”. This game has sloppy controls all over, next to no story and aside from climbing and killing the Colossus no real gameplay.Hell, even the graphics aren’t as ‘stunning’ as you make them out to be. The terrain, both grass and mountain isn’t very detailed and the character himself is uninspired with dull colors to try and catch the eye.Having said my piece I’m going to continue on a small rant here. How is it that aspiring writers like myself always seem to struggle to find a job and yet there are people like you getting to write for a published item? You’ve got one paragraph of “review” based on a game you claim to never have played. That’s real credibility right there. That’s experience. Dedication to ones job, that is.Or maybe that is just ridiculous.
