Women owning it

Save the date for an easy way to be part of the Women Taking Over The World With Tech movement.

Women Taking Over The World With Tech is a Volta program that encourages and nurtures—you guessed it—females working in or wanting to get into the male-dominated technology sector. WTWT is also a rallying cry, an aspiration and a series of monthly events. But is a fact? Are women really a growing part of the tech world?

“They are,” says Malary Schurman, Volta’s special projects manager. “We have definitely seen an increase over the years in attendance and female applications for tech programs at Volta Labs.”

The next WTWT event is a panel discussion Thursday, May 24, featuring a gender-balanced cross-section of the industry: Matt Cooper from Swept, Harbr’s Dave Kim, Paula Minnikin from Spark Engagement and growth strategist India White. Although it’s free and open to anyone interested in local tech, space is limited; to attend you need to register here.
