"We bought it because we liked it, not because we wanted to see it change," explains
Iain Hurst of Hurst Hospitality, new owner of
Nectar Social House Restaurant and Lounge (62 Ochterloney Street, 406-3363), one of the finest restaurants in Dartmouth and a multiple Best of Food readers' poll winner. That'll be a solace to those who love it, with further comfort to be had knowing that Hurst has been working in hotels all his life, starting in the restaurant and food end of the business. He reports there has been no loss of staff and chef Jeremy McLean continues to run the kitchen.
Customers will notice a few small changes: Brunch hours are now extended to open at 11am on Saturday and Sunday due to client requests. Tuesdays are now Corkage Tuesdays ($10 corkage per bottle) and also Legal Tuesdays in the lounge (5pm-7pm, large drinks available for the price of the smaller, including munchies compliments of the chef).
