Downtown Dartmouth business news

The Last Gamestore shuts down, Two by Sea Cafe to open in September and AntiGravity yoga takes off.

Shoptalk has learned that The Last Gamestore (590 Portland Street, Dartmouth, 434-3350) is closing. The plan is to focus solely on games and gaming supplies in the Clayton Park location (278 Lacewood, 457-7529) and get out of the comic biz. So, disappointing news for Dartmouth-area comic fans but for those looking for deals, the rest of the month the Portland Street location will remain open until the end of August with comics available at sale prices. Comics at the Lacewood location are also on sale to clear them out, making room for the game materials coming over once the Dartmouth store closes.

Two If By Sea bakery, a hotspot in the Dartmouth Farmers’ Market will soon have a home of its own. The business will be a cafe in the Founders Corner Condominium Project, located at the intersection of Octerloney and Wentworth Streets and is expected to having its grand opening at the end of September.

Interlude Spa (58 Ochterloney Street, 469-2700) is offering AntiGravity Yoga from August 25, a new fitness program inspired by aerial performance troupe AntiGravity. Though you probably won’t be given the gift of flight after a few classes, the regime is said to decompress tight joints and realign spinal vertebrae using a series of yogic hammocks. Call the spa for further details and class schedules.
