After falling for each other in 2004, Rick Mayuk and Trevor Johnston fell for Nova Scotia. Originally from Calgary, the pair came east to attend a wedding in summer 2007 and within five months had packed up, moved to Porter’s Lake and started building the home of their dreams. This dream home ended up being the prime spot for their private “I dos” too. An intimate backyard ceremony gathered 50 family and friends (40 of whom made the long haul from Alberta) and enlisted the help of Rick and Trevor’s English Bulldog, Harley, as the ring bearer. CUT Steakhouse played host for a elegant and modern four-course meal, while the grill downstairs was the perfect spot to dance the night away.
