Yoko Ono
Yes I’m a Witch
Ever since she rose to prominence as a factor in John Lennon’s dissatisfaction with The Beatles, their fans have hated her. So it comes as no surprise that she has finally accepted that fate, calling this collaborative project Yes, I’m a Witch. Love or hate her, Ono was always great at what she did. Using previously recorded Ono vocal tracks the disc is rounded out by the likes of The Flaming Lips, Cat Power, Apples in Stereo and Antony. The music is superb. Her voice isn’t, which has always been her downfall. Still, it’s a great intro to Ono’s ideology. Too bad that when she stops screaming she continues to prove her lack of vocal ability.
