World Animation Day is October 28. But, in the kooky-bendy, elastic-fantastic spirit of animation, a day can stretch into eight days of celebration. The NFB has organized a cross-Canada tour of screenings and workshops called Get Animated, to run from October 23 to 31. Halifax hosts two events on October 26 and November 1 (better a day late than never!). At the first, a co-presentation with AFCOOP, the NFB's New Visions program will be screened at 7pm, followed by an international program selected by Danny Lennon at 8:30pm. The second date, held at The Company House, features New Visions at 4pm, preceded by a special presentation at 2pm with Cordell Barker (The Cat Came Back, and Runaway, a social satire set aboard a treacherous train). –Sean Flinn
