For 26 years, Night Shift has been showcasing the art of the students and instructors of NSCAD's school of extended studies, but this year there's another layer to the exhibit. Aside from shedding light on the diverse works of 25 artists (some of whom are showing their art for the first time) the exhibit also offers a series of workshops. "I thought it would be interesting to bring the courses that brought us Night Shift to the public as free workshops," says the education co-ordinator for the school of extended studies, Charley Young. "Extended studies courses are gems and this provides us with the opportunity to remind people of the types of classes that we offer." Young will teach the last workshop, printmaking image transfer, which demonstrates the versatility of the medium and lets you make your own art. Check it out on Wednesday June 22 from noon-1pm at the PortLoggia gallery; materials are provided, experience isn't required and it's free.
