Where goes the neighbourhood? 

As someone who lives in the North End I found the feature story on gentrification very interesting and thought provoking.

I agree that something needs to be done to ensure that current residents aren't displaced - everyone deserves to live in this great neighbourhood. However I was shocked at the tactics of the Halifax Coalition Against Poverty. Whether or not they are actually responsible for the graffiti on North End buildings – it is wrong to even condone it.

There are a lot of organizations such as the Creighton Gerrish Development Association and Imagine Bloomfield who are creating positive change by working with the community rather than against it. Vandalizing private property is shameful, illegal and it shows a complete lack of respect for the North End community.
